The CultureThe culture at George Wythe University is a product of our philosophy, methodology, and curriculum. You will learn more about the culture students enjoy at George Wythe University at the following links: Our students, faculty and administration contribute to an environment where learning, thinking, doing and becoming is a way of life both in and out of the classroom. Students and faculty alike typically spend 30 to 40 hours per week in intense study and academic discussion outside of the classroom. They approach their education like an entrepreneurial venture that will only succeed after hours of focused, self-motivated work. Students value wholesome entertainment with fellow students but they realize that “playing” can become a distraction to their success. For this reason, they strive to be efficient with their time so they can study, serve and relax in proper balance. Even during “off” time, students might be found debating the philosophic character of a recent movie, reading a play together, attending the local theater, and discussing the principal effects that led to the Protestant Reformation. Balance does exist though, as such activities may alternate with organizing nature hikes, singing and playing musical instruments, and working out at the local gym. Students are clean, well groomed and mentally ready. |
