Director of Marketing and Public Relations

George Wythe University is seeking to fill the position of Director of Marketing and Public Relations. This is a full-time position consisting of the following responsibilities:
- Responsible for George Wythe University marketing strategy and individual event marketing plans
- Publicize and fill George Wythe University seminars and events
- Create marketing materials for the on-campus and off-campus programs
- Maintain and develop relationships with affiliate organizations
- Grow and develop George Wythe University database of contacts
- Direct the content and release of The Statesman, George Wythe University’s monthly online newsletter
- Responsible for all official George Wythe University press releases
- Maintain and develop content for George Wythe University website
- Direct/conduct on-campus visits
- Responds to public inquiries regarding the university
- Responsible for community relations, liaison for community programs
- Maintains a working relationship with local news sources
- Act as a George Wythe University liaison at events
- Generate prospective student leads
- Manage marketing at off-site events
The ideal candidate will be able to meet the following minimum standards:
- Significant educational and\or professional background in marketing, business or communications
- Strong leadership and consensus building skills
- Public relations and marketing management and strategic planning experience
- A proven track record in developing and administering a marketing plan
- Must be a self-starter, highly organized and be able to work well with faculty and staff
- Polished presentation and interpersonal skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent delegation and follow-up skills
- A good knowledge of Microsoft Office and Windows-based computer applications
- An in-depth understanding of Thomas Jefferson Education and the completion of coursework in a George Wythe University on- or off-campus degree program.
