Auditing Classes

Students who do not wish to apply for admittance into a degree program but would still like to attend classes may audit a class if space is available. Auditing is also an option for students who do not currently qualify for admission but who anticipate qualifying in the future. All courses, whether on-campus or online, are available for auditing. Auditing students do not receive GWU credit. However, if the student later applies and is accepted into a GWU degree program they may apply to receive credit for previously audited courses. The cost for auditing classes is the same as the cost to enroll for credit. Students who wish to audit a class should follow these steps:

  1. Go to the Student Center page.
  2. Review the most appropriate options (on-campus or online).
  3. Follow the appropriate links to register online.
