Fall 2009

The Fall 2009 term is still underway.  Evaluations will be added as they are submitted by students at semester's end.

I want to see Student Evaluations from other semesters.

Rather than footnoting an early piece of literature, I would have the students spend time in the Syntopicon of Adler's Great Books series.  The Syntopicon, coupled with the Rosetta and etymology were my favorites.

I loved the self-directed feel of this course.  I could see it being hard to have the same quality experience without familiarity in a least one other foreign language.  Because I knew some German and Hebrew, I was able to recall some of my own cognates.  The work is sometimes tedious and slow, but the epiphanies make it well worth your time.
