Overview

George Wythe University has partnered with Rosetta Stone to provide online language training as part of our curriculum.  (Students desiring to enroll for course credit should click here.)

Through the summer, we are offering these language courses through our Continuing Education program.  Now, you and your family can study language online from the comfort of your own home.  Each family member can study a different language using Rosetta Stone's award-winning, immersion approach to language learning

Available Languages

There are 3 levels of study available in each language, except where noted.  Each level takes approximately 20-70 hours to complete depending on an individual student's aptitude for languages, the difficulty of the language selected, etc.

* 5 levels available
** All Rosetta courses are modern and conversational in nature. This is not an ideal method for studying ancient languages, word origins, etc.

Pricing & Registration

The Summer 2011 George Wythe Continuing Education Language Study program runs May 9 through August 26.¹  Available slots are limited and are issued on a first-come, first-served basis. The Fall 2011 semester begins September 1 and runs through December 30.

• Individual pricing is $50 per person for the first language level and $25 per person for each subsequent level.  For example, if your son takes French levels 1-2, his cost would be $75.  Adding level 3 would raise the price to $100.²
• Family pricing is $200 for up to four family members studying up to four languages.  Any number of levels may be chosen.

Registration is quick and easy:

1. If you do not already have a GWU Online Services (OLS) user name, you will be prompted to create one.
2. Click "My Finances" on the menu at top left, then "Make Payment".
3. For "Reason" simply type "Rosetta Stone."
4. For "Notes" provide the semester, the names of those enrolling, and the languages and levels desired.  Also include the total registration cost (see example below).
5. For "Charge Amount" enter the total cost.  Upon successful payment you will receive a receipt and login instructions from Rosetta Stone.  A separate email notification will be sent for each user.³  Your account will be become active the first day of the semester.

Notes

1. Your account will be activated the first day of the semester and will be available through the last day of the semester.  Students desiring to continue their studies beyond the last day of the semester should register for the next semester at any time before the last day of the current semester.  Pricing is the same for new or continuing students.
2. Participants may begin with one level and add levels any time during the semester by following the registration instructions above and paying the additional level fees.  Participants may only change their language during a semester by paying a new registration fee.
3. No refunds are available once the login/instruction email is sent due to the nature of Rosetta Stone's policies.
4. Continuing education students enrolled in this program are considered auditing students and do NOT earn college credit for their studies.
5. This program will be available each semester in which there are sufficient seats available (regular GWU students have first rights to language class seats).
