World Leadership for the Young Statesman
Ages 16+

July 13-15

"There is something deep within each of us that knows we are at war against the darkness of this world.
It’s not hard to see. It confronts us everyday in the choices we make, in the lives we live.
We daily see the darkness around us; we daily take action that we hope will dispel it.
Sometimes our actions are successful, and sometimes they make things worse.
Often we get lost in the whole mess and nothing makes sense anymore."
-Dr. Andrew Groft, GWC

What are the skills needed to make an impact on the world? To really effect change? To fight against the darkness? Where does your personal mission fit into World Leadership? For those wishing to become statesmen and stateswomen this advance session prepares young adults for a great college experience through:

  • Colloquia
    • The Answer by John Assaraf
    • The Bridge at Andau by James Michener
(Chapter 6 contains cruel and unusual torture. Parental guidance recommended.)
    • The Last Battle by C.S. Lewis
    • Instans Tyrannus by Robert Browning
    • current events articles
  • Simulation
  • Lecture/Discussion
  • Mentoring from a counselor

This advanced conference will be held in Monticello, Utah at the site of the future campus of George Wythe University. Attendees will be tent camping on-site. There will be rustic private bathrooms and shower facilities.
